Jazz Events The Talbot Hotel has been welcoming traditional jazz bands from all over the world for over 15 years. Dedicated to the preservation of traditional jazz, your hosts Gilbert and Julie have succeeded in creating a warm, friendly and vibrant atmosphere, reminiscent of the days of the Cotton Club, where attention to detail is second to none.
Being jazz enthusiasts themselves, they are well known for selecting only the very best...and only the best want to play there! Famously having no stage, they have created a small intimate venue with bands being up close and personal.
Guests can enjoy a meet and greet during the evening, with some great photo opportunities. Some of the bands to have played here at The Talbot include the Dutch Swing College Band, The Jive Aces, The Andy Cooper All Stars (45 years Kenny Ball), The Pasadena Roof Orchestra, Chris Barber and his big band, Digby Fairweather and his half dozen, Kenny Ball and his jazzmen, Temperance 7, Paul Jones (Manfred Man), Aker Bilk and his Paramount Jazz Band, George Melly, Syd Lawrence and his big band orchestra, to name but a few!
Everyone is welcome to enjoy top quality jazz bands in a comfortable, air conditioned ground floor function suite.
